| Instructors Dawn Mehan
Dawn Mehan started formally studying Yoga at 21 and attended a 1 year teacher training program at The Yogalife Institute in PA with no intention of teaching, but rather to understand more about the ancient practice. Within four months, she was asked to co teach the program, which she reluctantly agreed to. Within 8 months, an unknown benefactor donated a scholarship for Dawn to study at the first organized school of Yoga in Mumbai, India. She left for India one month later and attended The Yoga Institute of Mumbai, and lived there with her teacher, Dr Jayadeva Yogendra from 99 to 2000, learning from ancient writings, The Yoga Sutras and The Bhagavad Gita. While in India, she worked with medical doctors and scientists researching the benefits of Yoga relating to various states of physical and mental disorders and the psychosomatic relationship between the two. She worked with diabetes patients, heart patients, those suffering from orthopedic problems, asthma, depression, anxiety, menopause and women who were pregnant. She lectured at The Womens College of Mumbai and participated in the Caring Heart Program, which set out to 'Bypass the bypass' surgery for Heart Patients. Upon returning to the US, Dawn finished the one year program at Yogalife and began teaching Yoga full time. She continued formal education at the same time and completed another year of Teacher training. In 2003 she wrote a teacher training program of her own and was the Co-Director of the program that graduated 20 teachers by 2005. From 2005 to 2008, she attended Divine Light Ministry in Downingtown, Pa, studying meditation practices of the Worlds religons and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister. She has continued teaching for what has turned into 11 years.
Namrata PrakashNamrata has been practicing traditional yoga most of her life with her mother as her teacher. Her first class at Bill Raup's Power Yoga Works studio was a sweaty challenge to say the least. Yet towards the end of the class there was a sense of gratitude and accomplishment. Thanks to the guidance and encouragement from the teachers she kept going back to know a little more of the practice and a lot more of herself. She trained to teach Power Yoga with Bill Raup of Power Yoga Works. Sharing the yoga philosophy and practice learnt from all her teachers with others gives her immense satisfaction and pleasure. Her hope is all the students will gain from their pactice each in a special and meaningful way - not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. When not teaching yoga, Namrata is busy practicing yoga in life with her husband, and two boys in Exton.
Catherine Vrencur Catherine Vrencur received her Power Vinyasa Yoga training from Power Yoga Works. She is married with children, and has a strong background in Martial Arts. Her passions extend beyond the love she has for her family and friends into her Yoga practice, her love of nature and photography, and her concern for the environment. Catherine is a firm believer in sharing knowledge with others, and believes the best way she can thank all of her fabulous instructors over the years is to give back what she has been more than fortunate enough to receive. | |
